So the year has started for us all with a hiss and a roar throughout New Zealand and at Bijonei it is no different, so we thought we would bring you a quick up date.
At the end of last year we celebrated 2022 with taking the team to Makoura Lodge near Apiti for our Christmas celebration. Upon arrival we began the evening with cocktail making and followed with a sumptuous dinner.
Kate had booked a cottage for our own accommodation so with full tummies and contented grins we headed back to the cottage for charades and after dinner drinks. It was a lovely end to a big year – Thanks Team for a great year!
New Team Members
We also welcomed two new team members Amandah McRobbie and Bella Lamont into the team.
Amandah joined us as a 2nd year stylist with a passion for hair colour and styling. She is super bubbly and focused on pleasing everyone who sits in the chair with her. We look forward to many happy guests that have the pleasure of Amanda’s talent.
Bella is our freshest team member having completed a year of hairdressing at UCOL in Whanganui. Bella moved to Palmerston North to join us here at Bijonei – lucky us! Bella has always dreamed of being a stylist and is already our hair up Queen.
We are constantly on the search for models for training so please let us know of anyone who could be available on Wednesday mornings 9am – 12pm.

Last year we worked on raising our google search as we really don’t have foot traffic and the internet is where the public go to when searching out a new hair salon. We partnered up with “Review You” and focused on feedback from YOU.
You will have a received a text the week following your hair appointment with us, that invited you to give us a star rating and a few words of how you felt your experience was. This enables us to see what you enjoy and any areas we could improve.
Thank you SO much to those that took the time to give us that invaluable feedback. We are now number 1 in the google search as well as we have taken the feedback and tweaked any areas of your experience that needed attention. You are very appreciated and whom we turn up daily for!

We held a National competition in partnership with Kerastase to win a years worth of complimentary Fusio Dose Rituals and one of our lovely guests WON! Congratulations Liz on your win – we look forward to looking after you and your hair in 2023.
Due to its popularity we are running the same competition again. All you need to do to enter is have a Fusio Dose ritual and enter the draw to win a years worth of rituals, to be done in salon.
Kerastase is the number 1 haircare brand globally and we are proud to work with them with monthly technical in salon training and intense National training held quarterly in NZ. Kate and Robbie were our Kerastase Ambassadors in 2022 and are looking forward to what 2023 holds!
2023 Hair Trends
This year’s trends in hair colour see warmer tones re-entering again, think peach, caramel, copper and auburn to name a few.
Basically, consider 2023 to be the year of the comeback with big voluminous curls of the ’70s, the shaggy mullets of the ’80s, the bouncy blowouts of the ’90s, and the side parts of the ’00s being bigger and better than ever.

- Peachy Rose Blonde, so soft and feminine, beautiful as an all over colour with scattered foils to add texture and volume and chocolate brown, a rich scrumptious colour with depth and shine! Who can resist anything chocolate – right?
